City of Windsor Employment and Training Services (ETS) has been working for more than a decade with residents and local employers in Windsor and Essex County to help people return to work by connecting employers with qualified workers.
With pandemic restrictions lifting and City services gradually returning to in-person business – the ETS Resource Centre, located on the first floor of 400 City Hall Square East, is thrilled to re-open its doors to the public (by appointment only) effective August 16, 2021.
Despite pandemic restrictions and periodic lockdowns, Employment & Training Services has continued to serve clients virtually or by phone. They have maintained services for residents, job seekers and employers, regardless of pandemic restrictions, and these enhanced options will continue to be offered.
In addition to continuing to provide service throughout the pandemic, ETS staff also took the time to reflect and re-evaluate the services provided to the public. The new slogan for the department, “Your Job is Our Future,” reflects the passion and commitment staff has to ensuring their clients succeed.
During the pandemic, innovation and modernization took a front seat. Watch for exciting new programs via social media that will provide residents with tips on the employment sector, info on which jobs are “hot,” and discussions with local employers about current and future job opportunities.
Now that there is optimism that we are moving into a more positive economic environment with jobs available in Windsor and Essex County, staff and management at Employment and Training Services can’t wait to help the unemployed and underemployed find their next career.
